HISTORY
Founded 1932, Federated 1947

The Woman’s Club of Denville was organized March 3, 1932 to fill a need for an impartial, non-political group to dispense relief to the unemployed and needy in Denville. The club became a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of the GFWC in 1947. In 2010, the Club changed its name to the GFWC Woman’s Club of Denville-Rockaway Area to better reflect the scope of its membership and service. GFWC Woman’s Club of the Denville-Rockaway Area is a registered non-profit organization working to support our community.

  • The club supports NJSFWC state projects and organizations such as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of NJ, Prevent Child Abuse NJ, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NJ, Domestic Violence & Awareness, and Operation Cookie/Candy.

  • Our club strongly supports education.  We award scholarships to seniors from both Denville and Rockaway high schools as well as students in the LPN program at Morris County School of Technology in Denville.  We also sponsor  juniors to attend the Girls Career Institute (GCI) program at Douglass Residential College.

  • The Club supports local social services in Denville and Rockaway with local donations such as back to school supplies in the fall, Wish Tree gifts in December, Easter baskets in the spring, and food to local food banks.

In 2022, the Woman's Club of Denville celebrated two big anniversaries!
